“Reconquering The Pit” – what a statement for an album title! Some may think the German death metal newcomers may be piling it on a bit too high, but after enjoying their new (actually their fourth) album and Metal Blade debut, they leave you no option but to nod appreciatively…

…as long as your neck is still in place! A song title such as “Sound Of Breaking Bones” is a fitting description of this album’s consequences. The intensity with which this – shall we repeat – German band bulldozers its way across the death metal battlefield, paying tribute to old heroes such as BOLT THROWER as well as to brutal modern grooves, is almost incredible. This is exactly how death metal should be played in this day and age! Massive riffs, crushing mid-tempo grooves, song-oriented solos, excessive speed, evil growls, raging screams, you name it, they’ve got it!

Listening to “Reconquering The Pit” is like facing a huge lorry on a narrow country road in a tiny car. No use trying to dodge it! Let it crush you! In this case it will be mighty fun!
