The Swedish death metal institution FLESHCRAWL is back again with its eighth skullcrusher “Structures Of Death”! Wait a minute: Swedish? No, FLESHCRAWL hail from Germany, Southern Germany to be more exact. And still they sound as if they were part of the same early 90s breed as ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, GRAVE or EVOCATION. Not for nothing FLESHCRAWL have been celebrated as “Germany’s most Swedish band” for years.
Their new opus isn’t going to change that. On the contrary: “Structures Of Death” delivers a blueprint of how Swedish-inspired death metal should sound in 2007, now that this style is enjoying a new-found popularity. While the sound still sports the charm of the old school, FLESHCRAWL pack cleverly worked out melodies, creaking solos, tons of grooves, raw high-speed riffs and an utterly brutal vocal performance on top, making the hearts of all death metal fans beat faster.
FLESHCRAWL is a band in whose blood the “Structures Of Death Metal” have been flowing for 20 years now. So it’s not difficult to excuse a wait of over three years since their last sign of… erm… death, “Made Of Flesh”!
“Structures Of Death” lives and breathes the spirit of primordial death metal from the first to the last second! Who needs Stockholm after a record like this anyway?
