Oracle Sun was started in 2002 by Frank Andiver (one of the most experienced Italian musicians, having played with Labyrinth, Wonderland, Shadows of Steel,ecc.) on drums, Emy Manuguerra (Angel Grace) on guitar, Val Shieldon (Sigma) on vocals, Fabrizio Marnik (Seven Gates) on keyboards, and Alessandro Cola (Mandragora Scream, Shining Fury) on bass. The idea was to add new solutions and alternative sounds to their type of playing, which, anyway, will always be defined as heavy metal. The starting point of this exciting journey is the debut-album ‘Deep Inside’, out early in 2006 under Scarlet Records and King Records (for Japan only).
VAL SHIELDON:
Val starts singing in 1989 and creates his first band (prog metallers Silent Scream) in 1993. In 1996 the band splits up and he begins working on his own, until he enters in Sigma and starts contributing to their self-titled debut under Athreia Records in 2000. Sigma supported bands like Labyrinth and Vision Divine and played at the Gods of Metal Festival in 2001. Val enters Oracle Sun in 2002.
EMY MANUGUERRA:
Emy starts playing guitar at an early age and in 1998 enters the italian prog metal band Angel Grace, which records in 2001 the Album "New Era Rising", published by Underground Symphony. In 2002 he starts playing with Oracle Sun. Since 2001 he's been working with the Roxy Bar Band, one of the most important Vasco Rossi's cover band, collaborating with musicians like Andrea Braido, Maurizio Solieri, Daniele Tedeschi, Oro and Andrea Innesto. In October 2004 he builds up the cover band Purple Snake.
FABRIZIO MARNIK:
Maurizio begins his musical career playing guitar but soon he finds his real love in keyboards. It was 1998 and he was a member of a Dream Theater cover band called Overture. He enters Seven Gates in 2000 and records the debut "Unreality" (Megahard Records) in 2002, promoting the album with an italian mini-tour.The second album "The Good and the Evil" is just finished and will be released by the end of 2005. In 2003 he joins Oracle Sun.
ALESSANDRO COLA:
Alessandro starts playing bass in 1991, influenced by Steve Harris, Geezer Butler and John Paul Jones. He works with Maubba, Paincrypt (one of the most interesting realities in the middle of nineties) and Nightmarish (sort of prog band influenced by bands from the seventies'). In 2001 he has his first great chance entering Mandragora Scream for the tour in support of their debut "Fairytales from Hell's Caves" (Nuclear Blast), then he forms with Ross Lukather, Tommy Pellegrini and Francesco Neretti the band Shining Fury, which release the debut “Last Sunrise” under Metal Blade Records in 2004. In 2002 begins to work with Oracle Sun.
FRANK ANDIVER:
Frank is a well-known Italian musician who played drums in the first three Labyrinth albums ("Piece of Time", "No Limits" and "Return to Heaven Denied"). Right now he's a member of Wonderland and Shadows of Steel. He also played drums with bands such as Anger, Mandragora Scream and Wild Steel to name a few. As a producer and engineer he worked with Atman, Skylark, Holy Knights, Pandemonium, Aydra, Seven Gates, Concept, Seventh Seal, Deadline, Projecto, Evil Wings, Mesmerize, Last Warning, Dis.Da.In, Arthemis, Skanners, Cheope, Full Moon Fever, Heaven Blast, Soul Blaze, Landguard, Angel Grace and Noble Savage.
