Artist: SEVENTH KEY
Album: LIVE IN ATLANTA (DVD)

Release date: 2005
Media type: DVD

Last year Seventh Key pleasantly surprised us with their CD 'The Raging Fire', which made it to my own personal top 10 over 2004. Now, one year later, again we are in for a treat, this time a live show recorded in front of a special group of people. No stadium or clubshow, but a gig for friends, family and other closely related people. Billy Greer and Mike Slamer from SK are assisted in their live effort by Pat McDonald on drums (he replaced Jamie Thomson) and David Manion on keys. There where also some guests invited. Kansas violin player Robby Steinhardt for example, and Billy's brother Johnny on the mandolin. Teryy Brock (from Strangeways fame) was also present to provide the background vocals.

On 'Live In Atlanta' the band plays a grand mix of stuff from their two albums, and as a bonus also three new studio-tracks are added to the tracklist. The live tunes don't differ much from the studio originals, so it has all been sung and played almost perfectly, with an leading role for guitarist Slamer. I knew that he was good, but on this album he really shows to be one of the big boys. Just listen to the well-known 'Always From The Heart' and 'The Kid Could Play'. If you would like to see the band yourself, then I suggest you try to get hold of the DVD version of this album, that has been released at the same time as he CD.
