Deliberately retro female fronted Italian Metal act formed in 1991. WHITE SKULL, centred on founder member guitarist Tony 'Mad' Fontт, arrived with the debut demo tape 'Save The Planet'. These sessions led swiftly to a union with Underground Symphony Records, the band roster at this juncture counting Fontт alongside singer Federica De Boni, second guitarist B.B. Nick, bass player Fabio Pozzato with Alex Mantiero on drums. First commercially available product, the 1995 'I Won't Burn Alone' album, heralded a series of Italian club gigs and set the scene for the 1997 sophomore outing 'Embittered'. Guest backing vocals on this release would be contributed by Folco Orlandini of MESMERIZE. By now WHITE SKULL's distinctive brand of classic Metal and in particular Federica De Boni's vocal capabilities were making waves further afield in Europe and Japan.
'Embittered' promotion dates included a run of gigs opening for New York Thrashers OVERKILL and a valuable appearance at the Milan 'Gods Of Metal' festival as well as Berlin's 'Harley Davidson Jamboree' in Berlin sharing the stage with DORO and U.D.O.
The interim February 1999 'Asgard' mini album, which included guest vocals courtesy of an impressed Chris Boltendahl of GRAVE DIGGER, would fire the interest of the burgeoning Nuclear Blast label in Germany. 'Tales From The North', which once again featured Chris Boltendahl, witnessed WHITE SKULL's switch of labels. The union with Boltendahl was solidified when WHITE SKULL opened for GRAVE DIGGER's European dates in January 2000.
The band would switch to Udo Dirkschneider's Breaker Record label (still administered by Nuclear Blast) for the 'Public Glory, Secret Agony' concept album. In August of 2001 WHITE SKULL replaced female vocalist Federica De Boni with an Argentinian male counterpart named Gus Gabarro. WHITE SKULL had their version of 'Stairway To Heaven' included on the 2002 Locomotive Music LED ZEPPELIN tribute album 'The Metal Zeppelin — The Music Remains The Same'.
Guitarist Nick Savio exited in December to prioritise his other act VICIOUS MARY. He was swiftly replaced by Danil Bar. During October of 2004 WHITE SKULL inducted the ANTHENORA and BROKEN ARROW credited Steve Balocco on bass. WHITE SKULL entered Remaster Studios in Vicenza during September 2005 to craft a new album. Related studio work found both Toni Fontт and B.B. Nick Savio gaining production credits on the RAISING FEAR 'Avalon' album.
WHITE SKULL parted ways with singer Gus Gabarro in late 2006, announcing female vocalist Elisa De Palma as replacement in January 2007.
