Tampere Gothic Rock outfit NEGATIVE, fronted by Jonne Aaron and imbuing their maudlin tones with a distinct 80s Glam edge, stand alongside a major crop of Finnish acts, such as H.I.M., THE 69 EYES and CHARON, that have achieved major status in their homeland. The band regularly breaks into the upper reaches of the Finnish charts and has quickly fostered large fan bases across Scandinavia, Japan and Russia. NEGATIVE, founded by Jonne Aaron and drummer Jay Slammer, began life as a trio during 1997, first performing live the following year. Pulling together a full band unit, NEGATIVE drafted guitarist Christus from the ranks of BLOODPIT.
The band contracted with Gbfam Records in 2002, working with producer Lex Luthor at Cosmic Studios to craft their first product. Notably the track 'Until Your Mine' saw the guest inclusion of SENTENCED man Ville Laihiala on guest vocals. Success came almost instantaneously for the band as debut single, 'The Moment Of Our Love' and first album, 'War Of Love', both scored gold sales status in Finland. The first single from NEGATIVE's opening single from their next album, 'Frozen To Lose It All' produced by TT Oksala and featuring newly installed keyboard player Snack, shot straight to number one in the official Finnish charts. The accompanying album, 'Sweet & Deceitful' featuring a cover version of NEIL YOUNG's 'Hey, Hey, My, My', was released in September 2004.
NEGATIVE set 'Anorectic' as a title of a third album scheduled for September 2006. The single 'Planet Of The Sun' entered the Finnish charts at number 1. 'Anorectic' topped the Finnish chart upon release. The group filmed a promotional video for the song 'Sinners Night/Misty Morning' in November.
