Hailing from Hungary EKTOMORF grooves enough to break the backrest of your seat. “Instinct” is a sledgehammer’s hit of anger, a call to arms. This album is an uncompromised, straightforward, in-your-face soundtrack to a revolution, bursting with groove, anger and Gipsy spirit.
Tight drumming and bass licks will crumble the foundation of any building together with the thunderstorms of gruelling tramping riffs, energetic lead-melodies and aggressive Punk influences. EKTOMORF manage to sound like Sepultura, Soulfly and Slayer, all in one.
Zoltаn (voc/g) and Csaba Farkas (bass) founded EKTOMORF in 1994 and got quickly well-known in the underground. Their debut "Hangok" offered a mixture of Hardcore, metal and above all, Romanic folk music. With this first work they gained a loyal fan base in Hungary, and with their self-titled second album they were soon able to broaden horizons and aim for world domination.
With their new drummer Jтsef Szakаs, Ektomorf recorded their third album "Kalyi Jag", translated “Black Fire”. In November 2003 EKTOMORF entered the Danish Antfarm Studios for the first time to record "Destroy" with producer Tue Madsen. "Destroy" showed all features EKTOMORF are known for, plus a slight touch of Pro Pain. Only a year later, it was time for new lessons in violence: “Instinct”.
Well known for being an excellent live band EKTOMORF have toured with many legendary bands such as Pro Pain and Fear Factory. Their biggest successes so far must have been the gigs during the festival season 2004 when the band played With Full Force, Wacken and Germany's biggest Alternative/Rock open airs Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in front of thousands of crazy fans.
One legendary show of the festival season 2005 is now available on DVD. "Live And Raw" is the product of the energy EKTOMORF unleashed at the Summer Breeze festival. But not only do you get the live show: As a bonus you’ll get the re-release of the third album "Kayli Jag" for free!
