Vision Divine were born in 1998, originally as a solo project from guitarist Olaf Thorsen (former member of the Italian band Labyrinth).Very soon, by the way, Fabio Lione (Rhapsody’s singer) rejoins him after the first Labyrinth period (‘No Limits’),and then what was supposed to be a solo project quickly turns into nothing but a real band, taking its new name from the previous Labyrinth’s monicker (Vision) and from the title that was supposed to be given to Olaf’s first solo album (Divine). Completing the line up Mat Stancioiu (drums),Andrew Mc Pauls (Keyboards) and Andrea “Tower” Torricini (Bass). In its first 3 years the band released 2 albums and, thanks to the good results with the sales, they start touring around the world, and here we’d like to mention the great South American Tour in Dec. 2000, where for the 1st time an Italian Heavy Metal band got the chance to play (and sold-out) Countries like Argentina ,Chile ,Brazil, Panama ,Mexico. In 2001 the band started writing and recording the new album, titled ‘Send Me An Angel’, released in January 2002. At the end of the same year Olaf decided to leave Labyrinth to focus just on VD and also to stop any annoying rumour from some mags, pretending to consider VD as nothing but a ‘side project’. For the same reasons Andrew and Mat left VD and were replaced by the highly talented Oleg Smirnoff on Keyboards (ex Eldritch and now Death ss) and Matteo Amoroso on drums (ex Athena). In 2003 the band started the songwriting for the 3rd album, when unfortunately Fabio had some problem regarding the coexistence of his career and VD - related duties . After some months, they mutually agreed to split in a friendly way, and the new singer was chosen in the person of Michele Luppi, a highly skilled and talented guy with a big experience in Live performances also. With this new line-up it was finally possible to complete the last songs, so the 3rd album was recorded and titled ‘Stream of Consciousness’, released in April 2004. With a brand new line-up and with renewed ambitions the band cancelled any previous deal, deciding to join Scarlet Records for the Italian territory, King Records for the Japanese territory, and Metal Blade for the rest of the world. Surely nobody can say this is a ‘side-project’ anymore… Here we are, year 2005! In September the first DVD ‘Stage Of Consciousness’, featuring an amazing live performance of the album ‘Stream Of Consciousness’ and bonus tracks, is released. At the same time VISION DIVINE is in the studio in order to complete the recording sessions of the new album titled ‘The Perfect Machine’ with Timo Tolkki from Stratovarius working with the band behind the console as producer! We believed that Timo helped Vision Divine to make their best album ever! Their most mature album, a perfect mix between power, aggression and melody. … Just in time to fly to Asia for their first Japanese tour!!! 2 amazing shows (Tokyo and Osaka) with Divine Fire and Skylark. ‘The Perfect Machine’ has been released in Europe/America by Scarlet and in Japan by King Records.
