Normally this quote speaks for itself and there's nothing to add to this well-deserved coronation… MOI DIX MOIS is widely considered one of the most influential bands of Japan's Gothic/Visual Kei music scene. With their debut album they have single-handedly revived the entire Gothic scene and have coined a new genre as once Gothic icons like THE SISTERS OF MERCY, THE CURE or FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM.

Already the opening track "Invite to Immorality", indicates that this is something different. Dark atmospheres reminiscent of SOPOR AETERNUS' "Es reiten die Toten so schnell" album combine with the strong classical influence shown in LACRIMOSA's "Inferno" work. Everything about this album is amazing. From the aforementioned intro to the Black Metal anthem of "Mad Ingrain", all the way to the catchy Goth Rock tunes "Nocturnal Romance" and “Mephisto Waltz”, this is an album that no real fan of Gothic music should be without. Merging all of the best qualities from each genre that they draw inspiration from, MOI DIX MOIS successfully stir up a brew of astonishing music.

The English and Japanese vocals are as varying as the music. Especially the Japanese vocals are enchanting, almost if you don't have the foggiest clue of what they are saying, that's what makes the songs great, the ability to feel the emotion and story behind.

If you're looking for something upbeat and unlike anything else you've probably heard, MOI DIX MOIS is an absolutely must-have, although it really is something else, so even if you're a big fan of LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT and CRADLE OF FILTH, you might look at this apprehensively!
