CRONIAN, originally billed as ION, was announced in 2005 as the side venture of BORKNAGAR members Oystein Garnes Brun (a.k.a. 'Panzerschwanz' of MOLESTED) and Vintersorg (a.k.a. Andreas Hedlund), the latter a well known character having made his presence felt on the scene with his own acts VINTERSORG, YARGATRON, HAVAYOTH, AXIOLOGY (previously entitled FREQUENCIES), SPACE ON EARTH and the Folk Metal combo OTYG. CRONIAN signed to the German Century Media label in November 2005 to record the album 'Terra'.
