Thrash Metal is no temporary phenomenon of fashion, no crossproduct, no circus act. Actually it’s the total opposite: Thrash Metal is a way of life, a philosophy, where a musician is involuntary driven to the music and just can’t escape. Real Thrashers celebrate this music style passionately their whole lives, totally comitted, and with a strong conviction. Sabina Classen has been, for the last 25 years, the driving force behind Holy Moses, one of the most important German Thrash Metal bands of all time. With her unique voice (also respectfully known as the „female vocals from hell“) and her unstoppable energy, Holy Moses, with a small break between 1995 and 1999 (in that time Sabina was touring with her second band “Temple Of The Absurd), have been constantly established at the top of the international Thrash movement. Since the formation of the band in the early eighties, they have not only released many convincing albums, but have always been able to prove their commitment on the stage. Holy Moses have shaken the walls of many important clubs and venues. Holy Moses quickly became famous and respected within the uprising brutal technical Thrash Metal scene with their masterful debut "Queen Of Siam" (1986), the total classic "Finished With The Dogs" (1987) and "The New Machine Of Liechtenstein" (1989). Holy Moses also gained a lot of additional recognition due to extensive touring activities with the likes D.R.I, Holy Terror, Sacred Reich, Forbidden, Artillery as well as many other and festival appearances on events like the Dynamo Open Air (1989). Holy Moses even managed to achieve the "impossible" by touring throughout East Germany in 1989 and 1990 with the album “World Chaos” at a time when this part of the country wasn't yet accessible to tourists and outside visitors. 1989 also saw Holy Moses featured in the major German TV crime soap "Ein Fall fьr Zwei" and band-leader Sabina was
also hosting the Heavy Metal show "Mosh" on the major TV channel RTL.

No doubt: It’s party time! Not only for Holy Moses, who can look back on 25 turbulent years but also for the fans, who will be made happy with this special series of re-releases.

HISTORY
Holy Moses was formed at the end of the summer, 1980, in Aachen, Germany. Things really got going though in the autumn of the following year when the guitarist Andy Classen and his singer girlfriend Sabina joined the band. With this duo, the band now had two sources of inspiration which proved to be extremely important for the band’s future. Under their musical guidance, Holy Moses managed to establish themselves as one of the most important Thrash acts alongside Sodom, Destruction and Kreator. When the 19 year old drummer Uli Kusch joined the band in 1986, Holy Moses showed not only that they were a successful band but that they were also supporting young talent. In 1990, the now highly respected Uli Kusch then went over to Gamma Ray, then to Helloween and finally to Masterplan where he is still to this day. Even with a lot of changes in the personelle, Holy Moses still managed to shine with their constant line of music and unending energy. Along with their Thrash classics such as Finished With The Dogs, The New Machine Of Liechtenstein or World Chaos, the band was regularily on tour around Europe and could even be seen in an episode of the German TV series „Ein Fall fьr zwei“. At the end of the eighties, Sabina sat alongside today’s editor of Rock Hard magazine, Gцtz Kьhnemond as presenter of the TV metal show „Mosh“ and also in 1997 on the internet show „Bullet TV”, going to prove her abilities as an all round entertainer. When at the start of the nineties, the thrash genre took a dip, Sabina ended the activities of Holy Moses and formed the band Temple of the Absurd. With the use of her lyrics she recorded with the band the albums Absurd (1995) and Mother, Creator, God (1999) to help to get over some mental and psychological problems. With this form of self therapy Sabina returned at the beginning of the new millenium with anewed energy to reactivate Holy Moses. With many shows and some important gigs at major open air festivals like Wacken Open Air plus the release of the two albums Disorder Of The Order (2002) and Strength, Passion, Will, Power (2005), the new formation (Sabina Classen – vocals; Michael Hankel – guitars; Ozzy – bass; Asgard – drums) have added a new fresh impulse to the long standing tradition of Holy Moses. The truth is: 2006 will once again be a Holy Moses year!
