- It is extremely difficult to put one specific label on the Degree Absolute material. While having firm roots in progressive metal, DA strays from the path quite frequently, exploring the worlds of jazz and ambient music, as well as doom, thrash, and technical metal. If it was possible to compare the music of DA to the music of other well-known bands, one could say that it is based somewhere between Fates Warning's semi-progressive melodies and WatchTower's technical playing skills [!]

Progressive, technical Metal band mentored by multi-instrumentalist and music instructor Aaron Bell and founded during late 1999. The DEGREE ABSOLUTE endeavour sees Bell pursuing Metal imbued with Jazz, Ambient, Doom and Thrash. Bell, handling guitar, bass, keyboards, guitar synth, cello and vocals, cut the inaugural demo in 2000 as a solo venture. This effort secured management from the Danish based promoters Intromental Management.
Bringing the project up to strength Bell pulled in bassist Dave Lindeman, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and previously a comrade in one of Bell's erstwhile acts CHAOS GAME, alongside DEFYANCE drummer Doug Beary. This trio produced a six track demo leading to a contract with US label Sensory Records. The eponymous debut, mixed by Neil Kernon, was scheduled for 2006 issue.
