It's easy to draw parallels to the big names of the genre, yet Zero Hour really sounds unique [!] [Heavy Oder Was]

Highly regarded Bay Area Progressive Metal, ZERO HOUR offer dark, intricate Metal and are unafraid to take on ambitious conceptual themes. The band was forged in 1993 by twin brothers guitarist Jasun and bass player Troy Tipton. Drummer Mike Guy signed up upon the band's inception and in 1995 erstwhile ROGUE'S GALLERY frontman Frank Mendez came onboard. The introduction of ex-PRODIGY keyboard player Mike Conner completed the line up and readied the band for a debut demo 'Discovery'. However, shortly after these sessions Mendez opted out and ZERO HOUR swiftly pulled in Connor's PRODIGY colleague Erik Rosvold to take on the vocal role.
The group set about live work throughout 1996 but the following year Connor was struck with the debilitating carpal tunnel syndrome, affecting both hands. Reluctantly the keyboard player relinquished his position. ZERO HOUR's objective of an album recording was undiminished though and Matt Guillory of DALI'S DILEMMA and Phillip Bennett from ENCHANT and STARSHIP undertook keyboard sessions. Self financing their self-titled debut in 1998 ZERO HOUR discovered a healthy fanbase for their music as the first manufacturing run of 2,100 copies rapidly sold out.
With the Rock media heaping praise upon the first album ZERO HOUR withdrew back to the recording studio to cut the adventurous follow up 'The Towers of Avarice' for the Sensory label. JASUN TIPTON also cut a solo album 'Night's Pulse'. Drummer Mike Guy would also be active with an extracurricular act entitled DEATH MACHINE, releasing two sets of demos.
ZERO HOUR's inaugural live show outside of the USA came with an appearance at the April 2003 'Headway' festival in Belgium. ZERO HOUR would re-issue their eponymous debut re-billed as 'Metamorphosis' during 2003. The new version, clad in all new artwork, added an extra four tracks.
In February 2006 ZERO HOUR announced the addition of singer Chris Salinas, previously with POWER OF OMENS, to the group's ranks.
