All over the world friends of sophisticated rock music will go into raptures about this name. Since 1982 ASIA enriches the musical landscape with their polished, bombastic and partly progressive melodic rock, and the history of the band line-up is like a "Who is Who" of the musicians' guild. The founding line-up consisted, apart from keyboard virtuoso Geoffrey Downes (Buggles, Yes), of Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) on drums, guitarist Steve Howe (Yes) as well as singer and bassist John Wetton (King Crimson, UK, Uriah Heep).

Their debut album with the famous dragon cover created by artwork legend Roger Dean became a megaseller worldwide, and songs such as "Heat Of The Moment", "Only Time Will Tell" or "Don't Cry" (from the 2nd album "Alpha") entered the charts all over the world at the beginning of the 80's of the last century. Till today they are often played on radio stations. With many live gigs they emphasized their musical special position. They regularly performed in front of several ten thousands of enthusiastic fans.

Since the beginning of the 90's band founder Geoffrey Downes and singer/bassisst John Payne are responsible for ASIA's fortune. Their first joint work "Aqua" was a drum beat in the music scene at the time - an impressive comeback of this rock institution of the 80's. Since then both musicians released first class albums on a regular basis featuring well-known names such as Al Pitrelli (Savatage), Ian Crichton (Saga), Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), Chris Slade (AC/DC), and Simon Phillips (Toto, Mike Oldfield).

For the current album "Silent Nation" Downes' and Payne's songwriting was supported by the prominent Billy Sherwood (Yes, Conspiracy). Once again ASIA convinces the listener with expressive melodies and intelligent song structures. Not only the big fan community will love this record but also the music media and the rock radio stations.
