This excellent box set includes five albums, recorded between 1976 and 1981 and released on the Columbia label, by the great US guitarist / composer Al Di Meola: "Land Of The Midnight Sun", "Elegant Gypsy", "Casino", "Splendido Hotel" and "Electric Rendezvous". Al Di Meola is one of the most talented and versatile US musicians with a career spanning over four decades. His early Jazz-Rock Fusion recordings and later Jazz-World Fusion albums are always a display of great talent and imagination. These albums were recorded at the beginning of his solo career when Di Meola re-invented Fusion guitar virtuosity at a level previously unknown. These albums have lost absolutely nothing of their beauty and sophistication over the years. The albums are remastered and packaged in album replicas (mini-sleeves), housed in a cardboard box, and with the price tag of a double album this is a tremendous bargain as well. Essential!
