After recording an album's worth of material in Avalanche Studios in Denver the band solicited the album, entitled 'Chain of Command', to several labels. Interest was strong, including an offer from a major label. The band also did a series of high profile gigs around this time, opening up for such acts as Helloween and Megadeth. Although a major record deal was offered, it turned out to be a poor contract. The band didn't sign the deal. Vocalist Bob Parduba and guitarist Christian Lesague left the band shortly thereafter.

"It's been 16 years since those recording sessions. But every week my mail box is still filled with at least a few questions about 'Chain of Command'. And it seems like every time we play a show, someone is having me autograph a 'Chain of Command' bootleg.

I bought that 'Chain of Command' bootleg a few years ago. It looks bad and it sounds bad. I'm embarrased by it. Back then we made cassette copies of the album on our home stereos to send to journalists. It sounds like the bootleg is a 3rd generation copy of one of those. The price? I think I paid around $30 for it. An incredible ripoff.

So now we finally have a chance to release an official version of this album. We worked hard for 7 months on this album and I think it deserves an official release. Something with a proper mix, a good cover and a nice layout.

I hope everyone enjoys the official 'Chain of Command' as much as I do. As I prepared the master it gave me a chance to revisit the music. I think it's a very good album and I'm proud to be a part of it."
