Because of the Times is the third album by Kings of Leon. Because of the Times was released by Hand Me Down on March 30, 2007 in Ireland/Australia, April 2, 2007 in the UK and April 3, 2007 in the US. The album has received generally positive reviews and has appeared in numerous Top-10 lists for "Album of the Year. In 2009, Clash named the album number 3 on the "Clash Essential 50", a list of the most important albums released since the magazine's inception in 2004.

The album became the band's first number one album in the United Kingdom and in the Republic of Ireland.

The album debuted at number 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 42,000 copies in its first week. As of the 20th of December 2007, the album has sold over 362,000 copies in the UK.
In Australia, the album has charted in the top 50 for over 40 weeks in total over 2007, 2008 and now into 2009 after its release.
