Opinions among prog fans split with regard to IQ’s two albums that were released on the major label Polgyram in 1987 and 1989 – here and there humorously categorised as ‘pop albums’ ‘Nomzamo’ and ‘Are you Sitting Comfortably?’ Had the band understood the signs of time, or had they been falling away from belief?
Anyway. Although there obviously was much pressure from sides of the record company especially with ‘Are you Sitting Comfortably?’ to work in a more song-oriented style. The band – with vocalist Paul Menel at the time – produced true prog gems, for instance ‘Nostalgia’ and ‘Falling Apart at the Seem’ as well as bombastic masterpieces such as ‘War Heroes’ and ‘Nothing at all’.
New edition with bonus track (‘Nothing at all’, live version).
