- 2004 album of the so far best British prog metal band. Also available as special edition with bonus track and multi media part!
UK’s Progressive Metal Export No. 1 is back with a new masterpiece! Two years on from Critical Mass, Threshold have finally finished their new studio album Subsurface. After six months of intense writing, recording and producing, Threshold's 7th studio album Subsurface is done. The artwork is designed by Thomas Ewerhard who was also responsible for Clone, Hypothetical, Critical Mass and Critical Energy.
'Subsurface' is in some respect a continuation of the direction the band started to explore with 'Critical Mass', yet in many others is a brash, audacious step forward. It retains their progressive roots and heavy approach whilst enhancing the accessibility of their overall sound to produce their strongest album yet! From the brooding, all embracing 'Mission Profile' that opens the album through to the emotionally charged epic 'Flags and Footprints', the band manage to captivate the listener with their distinct blend of cutting edge progressive metal.
