Ayreon-Mastermind Arjen Lucassen recorded a new double concept album. 'The Human Equation' is going to be released end of May. The album feature amongst others James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Mikael Akerfeldt, Devin Townsend, Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe), Magnus Ekwall (The Quill), Irene Jansen (Star One), Eric Clayton (Saviour Machine) and Heather Findlay (Mostly Autumn). For this album Arjen Lucassen enlisted also the talents of Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley, IQ's Martin Orford, Sun Caged's Joost van den Broek and Oliver Wakeman. He also continued his ongoing partnership with drummer Ed Warby, and worked with members of the Dutch band Flairck who added the honest classical instrumental flavors of violin, cello and various wind instruments.
After the release of Star One, a heavy metal project with which he was able to tour in 2002, Arjen was ready to create the next Ayreon. It is another double album, mixing all his styles again, and again inviting a critically acclaimed cast of vocalists and returning to the mix of all his favorite styles of music. This time however, Lucassen decided to leave the fantasy and science fiction world behind, and venture into the mind of man…
