The Scorpions have always been an amazing live band, probably one of the best in the world. Their performances are highly intense, electrifying and full of magical moments. They do rock you like a hurricane and many of their greatest songs only reveal their full potential when the band performs them in front of an audience. The idea behind WORLD WIDE LIVE, the Scorpions' second live recording after TOKYO TAPES (1978), was to catch the band at their peak.

For the live album, they recorded five shows in San Diego, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Paris and Cologne. The recordings capture the incredible atmosphere at Scorpions concerts and demonstrate the apparent ease with which the band manages to completely captivate their audiences. The set lists featured the very best pieces from their past four albums, and the way they performed the songs on stage adds an extra dimension of power, roughness and emotion to them. WORLD WIDE LIVE was first released on 20 June 1985. The album charted all over Europe, North- and South America and Asia and should consequently become one of the biggest selling live albums ever.
