KHOLD NEW ALBUM “MORKE GRAVES KAMMER” RELEASED ON CANDLELIGHT 05 APRIL 2004! - 22 March 2004
"A tour-de-force of grinding black metal grooves. Khold are in a class of their own." - Dom Lawson Kerrang
"A convincing slab of corpse-draggin' plague-ridden black metal vomit." - Einar Sjurso, Terrorizer
“There are times when Khold send shivers racing down the spine. Black metal is rarely this effective.” - Malcolm Dome
After a Scandinavian and a European tour supporting Satyricon last year, during which they recruited new bassist, Grimd, Khold shut themselves off in the studio and recorded their third cold, groove-laden masterpiece, "Morke Gravers Kammer", The lyrical concept is about a dark, rocky and primitive kind of chamber, the last stop before souls are taken away. The dead wake up and dance to the sounds of violins while awaiting demons that will collect their souls. When the music stops it`s dead quiet and all that`s left is mealy dust.
Darkness within art, nature, poems and movies is still what Khold draw inspiration from, making black metal in their own, unique style. "The new album is very dark, cold and heavy " explains drummer, Sarke of the band's new effort. "It's an eclectic collection of fast and mid-tempo tracks. The songs on this album are strong and the Khold trademark is there all the way. We have our own take on black metal. We offer something different within the genre and that can only be positive."
Illustrious Norwegian photographer, Marcel Lelienhof, renowned for his popular culture shots, is the man behind the photographs featuring in 'Morke Gravers Kammer''s artwork and he has also directed the band's first ever video for 'Dod'. WEBSITE: www.khold.com
