Swedish prog-metallers Wolverine are celebrating a glorious return with their first studio album in a decade. Anomalies will be released on 6 February via Music Theories Recordings. It’s been a decade since the Söderhamn quintet last released a full album, 2016’s Machina Viva, and four years since their last EP, 2021’s A Darkened Sun, raised hopes that they were back with a vengeance. Today, singer Stefan Zell is brimming with enthusiasm, fired up by the knowledge that his band - the Machina Viva line-up of Jonas Jonsson (guitar), Thomas Jansson (bass), Marcus Losbjer (drums), and Per Henriksson (keyboards) are to release new music and a bold new album. Wolverine’s trials and tribulations to get to Anomalies have given Zell plenty of subject matter. S... |

Formed in 1978 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Venom blazed a trail for a raw hybrid of punk and metal, wrapped in an overtly Satanic image that is now credited with starting the Black Metal genre, as well as being an influence on the thrash and speed metal scenes. Derided by the media but beloved of fans wanting a harder and faster fix of metal, Venom release three classic LPs in quick succession: 'Welcome To Hell' (1981), 'Black Metal' (1982) and 'At War With Satan' (1984). When Cronos returned with this solo effort, the material was still heavy with a thrash edge, but less extreme, with no hint of the black metal of Venom, save for a cover of the classic 'At War With Satan'. The line up for the recording ... |

Official re-issue of this solo effort from Venom guitarist and founder member Jeff Dunn aka Mantas. Originally released in 1988 on Neat Records (home to Venom, as well as Raven, Tygers of Pan Tang, Fist and White Spirit among others) ‘Winds of Change’ came at a time where Mantas had quit Venom and, temporarily, the music business itself. This pressing of the album comes fully endorsed by Mantas, with an extended booklet featuring many unreleased photos and images from the era, approved and supplied by Mantas himself from his personal archive. Formed in 1978 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, Venom blazed a trail for a raw hybrid form of punk and metal, wrapped in an overtly Satanic image that is now credited with starting the Black Metal genre, as... |

WINDSWEPT return with The Devil’s Vertep, a new full-length rooted in historical documentation and stark musical expression. Inspired by The Black Book of Kremenets Castle 1747–1777, the record traces the witch trials of 1753–1754 in Western Ukraine, unfolding as a conceptual narrative across six compositions. Each track immerses listeners in a chilling atmosphere of accusation, confession, and execution, rendered through raw black metal shaped by both immediacy and conviction. The project was founded in 2016 by Roman Sayenko, best known as the driving force behind Drudkh, alongside two close collaborators. Conceived as a space for spontaneity and instinctive creation, Windswept sought to capture black metal in its most unfiltered form. Sessions were ... |

• New opus from Belgian black metal stalwarts Enthroned, active since 1993 and revered as one of the genre’s enduring forces. • Ashspawn emerges from six years of ritual creation, co-written with occult author Gilles de Laval, uniting demonology, ritual praxis, and metaphysical transformation. • Musically the band’s most ferocious and personal work to date: relentless blast beats, oppressive mid-tempos, and solos oscillating between chaos and virtuosity. With the release of their twelfth full-length Ashspawn, ENTHRONED mark a new chapter in their three-decade reign of ritualistic black metal. Conceived across six years of deliberate creation, the album emerges as both an autopsy and a resurrecti... |

If you are a connoisseur of hard rock and traditional heavy metal, then you should note the name Wings Of Steel, a band you will definitely hear from a lot in the not too distant future. Wings of Steel was formed when vocalist Leo Unnermark and guitarist/bassist Parker Halub met while studying music in Los Angeles. They both shared the same vision and musical influences and began working together to create and refine their musical sound and style that would eventually become Wings of Steel. 2019 was the year the two started writing songs together, but the band Wings Of Steel did not really exist before the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2022. “There are many, many different influences that helped to shape our sound,” explains singer Leo Unnermark... |
