It's hard to put the PRIMORDIAL experience into words. This Irish band has managed to establish their own territory, away from the cliches of the metal scene in general and the pagan scene in particular. PRIMORDIAL live and breathe the spirit of their ancestors, putting it into captivating creations full of sorrow and pain on the one hand and confidence and strength on the other. Perfectly balanced between slow, dragging anthems and pure metallic fury, they always manage to create a world full of enthralling myths, where mist engulfs wonderful landscapes, only to reveal them in all their glory just at the right time.

The climax of the band's work to date is their latest album, “To The Nameless Dead”, which was fanatically acclaimed everywhere and reached the highest positions at year-end polls all over Europe in 2007. The band played countless festivals and the Heidenfest tour, which was sold out nearly everywhere.

In order to shorten the wait until the new album and to introduce the band's early records to fans who discovered PRIMORDIAL through their Metal Blade releases, “The Gathering Wilderness” and “To The Nameless Dead”, Metal Blade are re-issuing the group's back catalogue in an upgraded form.

First in this series of re-releases is PRIMORDIAL's debut album “Imrama”. Recorded in late 1994, it was originally released by Cacophonous Records in the autumn of 1995, already displaying the band's sense for overwhelming melodies, epic drama and total commitment, wrapped in a raw sound with a much stronger black metal influence than the band shows nowadays.

The re-issue comes as a double CD including the remastered album plus unreleased demos and live recordings, packaged in a precious black linen slipcase with glossy golden hot foil print, containing a six-page digipack with the original artwork, the two CDs and a 16-page booklet with new liner notes, interviews and additional photos.

Mandatory for any self-respecting heathen!
