This is a new compilation with selections from each of Pat Travers’ nine Polydor albums (encompassing the 1976-84 period) to give an impressive picture of his classic rock style. Toronto-born, London-based Pat Travers became a festival circuit favourite in the mid-1970s with his straight ahead, no nonsense brand of hook-laden hard rock. Various Thin Lizzy members guested on his albums, one of which, ‘Makin’ Magic’, reached the UK Top 40. He moved to the States later in the decade to rub shoulders with the likes of Rainbow and Aerosmith, and, though his recording career came to a sudden halt in the mid-1980s, due to management and record company problems, he returned in 1990 and is now once again a respected guitarist and performer on the blues-rock scene. This essential 2CD distillation of the first half of his recording and touring career contains all of Pat Travers’ signature songs - such as ‘Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights)’ and ‘Snortin’ Whiskey, Drinkin’ Cocaine’ –and is packaged with informative sleeve notes and evocative pictures of Pat in action.
