- Their latest work, entitled "Thy Kingdom Gone" is their most intense and varied offering yet. Beckoning us into denser and more atmospheric realms than the catchy material on "Razorbliss" and borne by the bleak concept of the loss of belief in human nature, "Thy Kingdom Gone" is a passionate and pensive piece of work. The title track features guest vocals from Samael singer Vorph and is probably the heaviest song on any Flowing tears album so far. It is certain to make waves in the Gothic metal scene [!]

2004 was a busy year for Flowing Tears. After the release of their fifth studio album "Razorbliss", the "flagship of German Gothic metal" (Metal Hammer Germany) played several European tours followed by a row of festival appearances. As the band felt worn out and short of inspiration they decided to take time off after ten years in business and five albums, to gather new inspiration, new impressions from life, and to clear their minds, instead of going on in a routine. 2007 saw their return to stage with an impressive live performance at the renowned Metal Female Voices Festival in Brussels, proving there are a lot of dedicated fans waiting for a new studio album. The same year Flowing Tears left their former label Century Media records and inked a new deal with British female-fronted metal specialists Ascendance Records. They released their first live album "Invanity - live in Berlin" featuring an intense semi-acoustic show recorded at Passionskirche, Berlin in 2004. Enriched by a studio cover version of Nick Caves classic "The weeping song", which Flowing Tears recorded together with Tiamats Johan Edlund, this release set the grounds for a new start. Bursting with new inspiration, regained passion, and filled with stories to tell, the band started working out new songs. Having been one of the first generation bands to integrate female vocals in metal music, the journey led them back to the core of their inspiration, paying tribute to artists such as Paradise Lost, Anathema and Katatonia, while still honouring their own unique style of song writing. Their latest work, entitled "Thy Kingdom Gone" is their most intense and varied offering yet. Beckoning us into denser and more atmospheric realms than the catchy material on "Razorbliss" and borne by the bleak concept of the loss of belief in human nature, "Thy Kingdom Gone" is a passionate and pensive piece of work. While songs such as "Orchidfire" or "Pain has taken over" combine a new-found heavier edge with the bands unique atmospheric melodies, tunes such as "Kismet" or "Miss Fortune" show them exploring a passion for fragile and dark soundscapes. The title track features guest vocals from Samael singer Vorph and is probably the heaviest song on any Flowing tears album so far. Gilded in the visionary artwork of Seth Siro Anton, "Thy Kingdom Gone" is a dark and adventurous musical package and the most personal that the band has produced so far. It is certain to make waves in the Gothic metal scene.
