It’s not unusual to see that there is a gap of ten years between the foundation of a band and the release of their debut album. Take this Swiss band for an example. Founded in 1998 and having released two well-received demo EPs – “Destiny” (2001) and “Spirit” (2005) – the guys and their fanbase had to wait a long time before this “A Deep Breath Of Life” was released.

Two years were spent writing songs for this debut and the hard work has paid off. Although the two EPs counted 11 tracks in total, none of those older songs have found their way to this debut album. All songs on “A Deep Breath Of Life” are indeed brand-new and they prove how talented and versatile these five gentlemen are. What I hear, is melodic power metal in the vein of bands like Edguy, Royal Hunt and Stratovarius. Having played 15 to 20 gigs per year, it’s only natural that the six band members perform like real professionals. The well-known House Of Audio Studios in Karlsdorf (Germany) were chosen for the recordings and no one else than Dennis Ward (PC 69) was asked to do the mix. Knowing that, I guess I don’t have to tell you how good this album actually sounds! With a good balance between up-tempo songs and ballads, there’s a wealth of material to enjoy here.

This is the 47th album on Metal Heaven and it’s one of the best this label of Georg Siegl has released so far!
