- Seventh album of the Italian Melodic Power Metal band! Mixed and mastered by R.D. Liapakis (MYSTIC PROPHECY) and Christian Schmid! Limited edition with three bonus tracks and a video clip!
2007, the Italian quintet ELDRITCH releases its seventh studio album "Blackenday" which will raise the bar for their future work again. ELDRITCH, without doubt Italy’s best-known Melodic Power/Techno Thrash band, make a statement with "Blackenday": obviously, they don’t get tempted by trends or short-lived influences and push through their "own musical thing". Meaning: competent linking of high class song structures with partially very catchy tunes, thunderous passages for several voices, and the rampant drive to press the songs forward with pushy guitar work. "Blackenday" contains the most mature song material the Italians have delivered so far - which can be noticed very clearly in compositorial unique songs as 'Silent Flame', 'Broken Road' or 'The Deep Sleep', just to mention three of them. Self-confident, ELDRITCH swing back and forth between uncompromising guitar attacks and incredibly well-balanced choruses. As was the case with the last album, R.D. Liapakis (MYSTIC PROPHECY) and Christian Schmid (in the Prophecy and Music Factory studios), have used the mastering and the mix of the album produced by lead guitar player Eugene Simone. Thus, a transparent, forceful sound is ensured. It goes almost without saying that the Italian rockers present us with three bonus tracks and a video clip to the song 'The Blackened Day' on the limited edition of "Blackenday".
