In the United States AS I LAY DYING are already one of the biggest exponents of the Metalcore/New Wave Of American Heavy Metal genre next to KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, with sales figures way up in the five-digit region. In Europe, too, the San Diego five-piece can boast an ever-growing fan base and rising record sales. After their 2005 breakthrough album “Shadows Are Security”, which decidedly influenced a number of new bands soon after its release, and a triumphant Hell on Earth Tour (with NEAERA, END OF DAYS, EVERGREEN TERRACE, AGENTS OF MAN and HEAVEN SHALL BURN) as well as staggering shows at Rock am Ring / Rock im Park (VELVET REVOLVER, IRON MAIDEN, UNEARTH, R.E.M., DIE TOTEN HOSEN, GREEN DAY…), AS I LAY DYING have been able to further build on their exceptional status.

n order to bridge the gap to their next studio album and as a gift to their loyal fans, the band is re-releasing their early recordings on an album titled “A Long March – The First Recordings” on 19.05.2006 (G/A/S) / 22.05.2006 (rest of Europe). Included are all tracks from their debut “Beneath The Encasing Of Ashes“, as well as the songs from their split-CD with AMERICAN TRAGEDY, both originally released in 2001 by Pluto Records. These CDs have become collector’s items which are being sold on the Internet for up to $75! This re-release proves these songs are worth every cent, but in a “value for money” version! On top of all that, AS I LAY DYING will be playing this year’s Pressure Fest in Herne, one of the top events in the scene!
