- Viking metal at its finest! A milestone of the genre - epic mature hymns tell of heroes and battles of times gone by!
A solo Viking Metal inspired venture of former CRIMSON GATES guitarist Vratyas Vakyas. FALKENBACH, based in Dusseldorf although of Icelandic origin, debuted in 1995 with the tape 'Laeknishendr'. Although restricted to just 33 copies this led onto recordings for a proposed inaugural album to be entitled 'Fireblade'. However, 'Fireblade' would never be completed and before the close of the year a brand new set of songs was composed for an album '...EnTheir Medh Riki Fara.…', issued by No Colours Records during 1996. Switching to the Austrian label Napalm Records FALKENBACH returned in 1998 with 'Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri'.
After a five year hiatus the third album, 'Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty', was delivered by Napalm in November of 2003. These sessions would see Vratyas Vakyas working alongside VINDSVAL musicians vocalist Tyrann, acoustic guitarist Hagalaz and drummer Boltthorn. Vratyas Vakyas, owner of Skaldic Art Productions, would add guest vocals to the 2001 AD INFERA album.
FALKENBACH returned in 2005, withew studio album entitled 'Heralding - The Fireblade'. However, it subsequently emerged that these tracks comprised the archive recordings laid down before 'En Their Medh Riki Fara'. Some of this material had been re-recorded at Tidalwave Studios.
