It has been the ‘gods of music’ who wanted Metal that was powerful, real and honest. And it has been the South West German band Destruction who have listened to that carefully. That was in the beginning of the 80es. And until today it didn't change. Following trends was never important to Destruction. Thrash Metal is Destruction, Destruction is Thrash Metal.

Since the beginning they have been genuine and uncompromising in their ideals and their sound. Schmier and his colleagues have never been influenced by trends, they make the music they believe in. And with that their place in the annals of Metal music is assured. They influenced a generation of musicians worldwide with their passion and originality.

After their ground breaking debut album ‘Sentence to Death’ in 1984, and a highly successful tour with Kreator and Rage, Destruction closed their first chapter in 1989. While vocalist and singer Schmier continued making headbanging music with his new band headhunter, guitarist Mike continued keeping the Destruction flame burning.

10 years later in 1999, Schmier and Mike decided that the time was right to work together again as Destruction, with new drummer Sven. In 2000, a new century, and a new Destruction record, ’All Hell Breaks Loose’, featuring ’The Butcher strikes Back’ acknowledging the past and looking forward at the same time. Destruction are back! The Antichrist (2001) featured ‘Thrash till Death’ probably the best thrash anthem for the new century. The 2003 release ‘Metal Discharge’ featured new drummer Marc who brought a new dynamism to the band.

The band continues to earn respect from the music world, staying true to their roots while moving forward, now as in the 80es. And now Destruction release their latest uncompromising and aggressive recording called ‘Inventor Of Evil’. ‘Alliance of Hellhoundz’ is the new anthem for 2005 and one of the most outstanding tracks the band has produced so far. Loud, heavy, aggressive and melodic, carrying the Metal groove which runs through the new album ’Inventor of Evil’.

The album has a fresh and new sound, featuring classic thrash songs, written by Schmier and Mike, powerfully produced and mixed by old friend Peter Tдgtgren (Pain, Hypocrisy) in his Abyss Studio in Sweden. The Butcher is back as well with an evil smile and a bloody knife, ready for all! ‘Inventor of Evil’. Beware, it will blow you away!
