Crematory are a seminal German metal band formed in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, in 1991. For over three decades, they have been one of the most influential acts in European gothic metal, evolving from their early death metal roots to create an atmospheric sound with industrial influences that blends heavy riffs, keyboards and contrasting vocal styles.

From the outset, CREMATORY attracted attention with their intense live performances and touring alongside leading figures in the scene, combining the aggression of death metal with melodic and haunting elements. Their early albums showcased their versatility, and their later works expanded into industrial textures without losing emotional weight or heaviness.

Throughout their career, the band has explored themes of life, pain, introspection, ritual and atmosphere. 'English Hymns & Deutsche Hymnen', due for release on 15 May 2026, is a celebration of this dual identity. The three-CD format brings together key English and German works alongside the band’s earliest demo, offering fans a retrospective view of CREMATORY’s past and a fresh way to engage with it. The limited double vinyl editions, presented in neon green and turquoise, pay homage to the visual and sonic diversity that has characterised the band’s long career.
