Recorded during a recent autumn tour by Scottish rock vocalist Ray Wilson, this little memento serves as a fitting souvenir for those who attended the shows, and an excellent picture postcard for those fans that couldn't make it. After numerous acoustic shows the singer/songwriter proved that he is also able to rock out with just as much feeling in an electric show.

The 32 tracks contained on "Live" showcase a brilliantly, joyful performance. Here is a band in perfect harmony that manages to give a spirited rendition of Wilson's varied repertoire. Apart from material culled from his two solo albums, Wilson also draws from the classic Genesis catalogue, while throwing in highlights from his time spent with Guaranteed Pure (the exuberant "Swing Your Bag") and Cut ("Sarah", "Gypsy"). Of course, the set wouldn't be complete without the inclusion of the successful Stiltskin favourites "Inside" and "Footsteps".

The audibly receptive audience in the German artist district of Worpswede, near Bremen, gives the album a very special atmosphere that speaks for itself. Opening with "These Are The Changes" from his last solo album "The Next Best Thing", Wilson quickly takes command of the stage. Captivating the audience with fresh and original arrangements of Genesis classics such as "I Can't Dance", "Carpet Crawlers" and "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" alongside the quiet and intimate tones of his own compositions such as "The Actor". Joining Wilson on stage is keyboard player Irvin Duguid, who does a wonderfully heartfelt piano solo on the Genesis favourite "Ripples". The rhythm section comprises Lawrie and Ashley MacMillan on bass and drums respectively and ably supporting on lead guitar is Ray's brother and long time musical companion, Steve Wilson.

Played with sensitivity, an acoustic set aptly closes the show. Once again, the distinctive blend of singer/songwriter material from one of rock's most passionate voices proves to be most at home on the stage.
