Germany’s LONG DISTANCE CALLING, who kicked off their career as entirely instrumental act fusing post-rock, alternative, metal, and prog, present vinyl editions of the second to fourth album in 2016. A perfect chance for everyone discovering the band via the current opus “TRIPS” (released in April 2016) to dig in deep into LDC’s history! Profiting aurally from a special vinyl mastering by Patrick W. Engel (Iced Earth, Cynic, Tiamat), “Avoid The Light” (2009, feat. Jonas Renske / Katatonia as guest vocalist), “Long Distance Calling” (2011, #36 in the German charts, feat. John Bush / Armored Saint as guest vocalist), and “The Flood Inside” (2013, #33 in the German charts feat. vocals by Martin Fischer and guests Vincent Cavanagh / Anathema & Petter Carlsen) have never sounded as wonderful as on such 180 gram vinyls, which also come along with the particular album on CD as bonus. Recently honoured by Visions mag as “Germany’s most exciting band blending prog and metal”, make sure to check out the previous sonic trips of LONG DISTANCE CALLING.
