DISBELIEF - a stands for pure energy! Anybody who has witnessed band live on stage or listened to one of their unbelievable intense albums can only confirm that this act is a thunderstorm made of growls, riffs and extreme emotions.
With "Spreading The Rage" (2003) - a stunning monument built of neurotic and fascinating metal - DISBELIEF reaped several "album of the month" titles (e.g. in ROCK HARD and LEGACY) and again got only the most excellent reviews. Now they are ready to cause another stir in the media and to bring their fans into seventh heaven! "66 Sick" is a monster album full of groove, strength and above all intensity! All songs are merciless and enthralling, bursting with devastating energy. DISBELIEF show a very colourful and extremely various palette of styles in their new assault.
The band started the song writing process for "66 Sick" after their tour with PRO-PAIN in spring 2004. 'Edges', the first of the new songs, marks a chain link between "Spreading The Rage" and "66 Sick". "We needed some time to detach ourselves from the previous album and to find new ways", says bass player Joe Trunk regarding the development of the songs.
This time (as in 'Rewind It All' and 'Continue From This Point') a melodic touch which fits the new material extremely well has been added to the sick growls and grunts of singer Jagger . On the other hand, songs like the brutal 'For God?' are described as a kind of pressure valve following some periods when the band had to cope with a deadlock in their song writing. At the end, the guys had only six weeks left for finishing their material for the recordings.
With the finished songs at hand, DISBELIEF entered the Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark, in November 2004 to start the recordings with their new producer Tue Madsen. "The change from Andy Classen / Stage One Studios to Tue Madsen was our choice", states Joe. "Due to the very fact that we went to Denmark to cooperate with a new producer with a whole new approach we hoped to get a new inspiring effect. And fortunately this was exactly what happened!" The band was bursting with spirit and energy and had all songs ready up to schedule. Together with Joe Trunk and Karsten "Jagger" Jager, Tue Madsen created a very tight and in-your-face sound for "66 Sick". The result is very original and brutal. The right sound for a DISBELIEF release, reflecting the live atmosphere the band is known for!
DISBELIEF was founded in 1990 by Karsten "Jagger" Jager and Olly Lenz. Many line up changes occurred and after several demos, the band recorded its first two albums "Disbelief" and "Infected" and released both through Grind Syndicate Media.
The band first toured with SIX FEET UNDER and BOLT THROWER and also played the famous Nuclear Blast festivals as well as the Dynamo and Wacken Open Air.
In early 2000 guitar player Tommy Fritsch left the band and was replaced by Jan-Dirk Loffler. With this new line up, the band recorded "Worst Enemy" in 2000 which got released through Massacre Records in 2001. Shows at the No Mercy festivals followed and the band shared the stage with OVERKILL, VOIVOD, DIMMU BORGIR or STUCK MOJO, just to name a few.
The fourth album "Shine" remained in the ROCK HARD reader's charts for more than six months and was cemented by some legendary gigs at the Party.San Open Air in Bad Berka and the Summer Breeze Festival. A great number of headliner shows made DISBELIEF's reputation as an unique live band spread among the metal fans. Soon they also had the honour to go on tour with legendary DEATH ANGEL and PRO-PAIN.
The limited first edition of "66 Sick" will be released in a high-quality o-card with different cover plus four classic cover songs as bonus tracks:
