III The Rommel Chronicles started to become reality in the 2nd half of 2012 after HAIL OF BULLETS started to write songs for their third album. Lyrically the band decided to go new ways. In the past the band used to pick certain battles to be described. But this time it is all about the military life, the rise and fall of German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. Though he was fighting on the wrong side he was with no doubt a great strategist who was feared and respected at the same time by his enemies.

Musically III The Rommel Chronicles goes slightly back to the debut album. The songs are raw, faster, more aggressive and more direct than they used to be on On Divine Winds which was a rather a more epic and more heroic record.

Again the album was produced by Ed Warby. Mixing and mastering was done by Dan Swano. Due to the new lyrical direction a change in creating the cover was necessary. Erik Wijnands from the Netherlands took care of that in an awesome way.
