Based in the Faroes, TYR seventh album Valkyrja, is about to be let go in September. Again the band worked with Jacob Hansen in his HANSEN studios in Ribe, Denmark. In addition to that they could get renowned drummer George Kollias to do the studio work. Leaves’ Eyes female front lady Liv Kristine is doing a duett with singer/guitarist Heri Joensen on The lay Of Our Love. Feat. George Kollias [NILE] on Drums.

About Valkyjra:

Valkyrja is a concept record. The story line is based on a nameless viking who leaves his wife to impress the valkyries on the battlefields to have them take him to Valhalla or Fуlkvangr, home of Freyja, goddess of love, sexuality, beauty, copiousness, gold, war and death. Or to put it this way: the record is about women influencing men and about the things men do to impress women.

As frontman Heri Joensen states “the woman that the warrior leaves may represent the earthly women. Freyja, The Lady Of The Slain, may represent the perfection of Women, and the Valkyrie is the link between the two, taking men from earthly to godly women.”
