- Limited edition FDR remastered version of this classic slice of grindcore history from seminal UK act Carcass, with bonus material on the CD version. The CD edition contains three bonus songs from the ‘Tools of the Trade’ EP as well as two rare live cuts recorded in Japan. The CD is housed in a specially designed slipcase sleeve. The vinyl faithfully recreates the original pressing, with the same original tracklisting, pressed from the original master tapes [!] - This album has been specially remastered using 'FDR' - Full Dynamic Range mastering - allowing the music's nuances to shine through and giving the whole album a more ferocious and dynamic sound than ever before, and enabling the listener to immerse in the full audio heaviness like never before.
'Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious' was Carcass' breakthrough album, the first to feature current Arch Enemy guitarist Mike Amott. Carcass have recently announced the recording of a new album – their first in 17 years – and touring following a recent live reformation in the last couple of years.
Formed in the late 80's, Carcass featured ex Napalm Death guitarist Bill Steer and ex Electro Hippies vocalist Jeff Walker. The band became famous as a 'gore' band - using extreme images on album sleeve and in lyrics, often with a medical dictionary providing inspiration. The band toured the world with great success and eventually signed a major label deal with Columbia Records in the mid 90's. Having split after the release of the final album 'Swansong', Jeff Walker continued with Blackstar and Brujeria. Bill Steer formed Firebird, and Mike Amott found success with Spiritual Beggars and Arch Enemy.
