2012 will see the release of the fifth Aura Noir album "Out To Die". The album is bound to cement the band's reputation as a blackened thrash act more ugly, brutal, and merciless than ever. Formed in Oslo in 1993, Aura Noir was the result of band mates Apollyon (Immortal, Lamented Souls), Aggressor (Virus, Ved Buens Ende) and Blasphemer's (Ava Inferi, Mayhem) frustrations with the increasing overuse of keyboards and polished production in the black metal genre they helped to create. Since their inception, the band has found themselves at the forefront of the new wave of underground metal, returning to the eighties school of evil, lo-fi, dirty thrash metal.
