First released in the autumn of 1968, "S.F.Sorrow" marked a great leap forward by the group. Hailed as the first rock opera, the record came out six months before The Who's "Tommy". Based on a story by Phil May the song cycle tells the tale of Sebastian F.Sorrow, from birth through love, war, tragedy and death.

The first complete performance of "S.F.Sorrow" was recently recorded "live" at Abbey Road Studios, London, where the original album was made back in 1967. Guest star Dave Gilmour and Arthur Brown joined in this historic event, which was also broadcast "live" over the internet. But this is the original concept album in all its glory, with the addition of seven bonus items.
