Racer X is back! L.A.'s most intense heavy metal band of the 80's reunites at last! The band features original members Jeff Martin (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), John Alderete (bass), and Scott Travis(drums). Paul Gilbert is well known for his platinum success with MR. BIG, and Scott Travis is an established member of the heavy metalband JUDAS PRIEST. Jeff Martin returns as lead singer after spending a few years as the drummer for BADLANDS and THE BLACK SYMPHONY, and John Alderete has played in countless bands including THE SCREAM.

"Technical Difficulties" is their first new studio recording in 13 years. The band maintains the stunning energy and virtuoso musicianship of their early records, while using their combined experience to go further into songwriting and production. Gilbert says, "I wanted to do this album for three reasons. First, because I wanted to play some screaming heavy metal guitar! Second, because the guys in Racer X are some of my best friends, and I knew we would have a great time writing and recording as a BAND. Third, because 'Fire of Rock' is one of the best heavy metal songs I've ever written, and I wanted to record it!". Paul continues, "Another one of my favourites is 'Snakebite'. I got an e-mail from a guy named 'Snakebite' one day. He was a huge Racer X fan, and was yelling at me to do another Racer X CD. I thought he would freak out if we named a song after him, so we did!".
