Enochian Theory first started work on Evolution: Creatio Ex Nihilio in January 2008. The band locked themselves away at their own studios writing the album and finalising things ready for the recording process to begin.
The drum tracks were recorded at The Old Blacksmiths Studio (UK) with the band again working with Emmy nominated engineer Rich Tamblyn, who had co-produced the bands A Monument to the Death of an Idea release. The guitars, bass and vocals were recorded with Josh Eaves and Ross Gill at Rossgill Studios (UK) and the orchestral arrangements and recording, completed at Enochian Theory's own studio 'Etherial Tantrum Studios".
The finished recordings was then mixed and mastered in Sweden by David Castillo, who has co-produced the Katatonia records 'The Great Cold Distance' & 'Night Is The New Day' on the Peaceville label as well as mixing the Opeth record ‘Watershed’ on the Roadrunner records label.
It was mixed in Castillo’s new state of the art recording facility ‘Ghostward’ (Sweden) and had the honor of being the first project worked on there. The artwork for the album was conceived and realized by Swedish artist Robin Portnoff, who had been introduced to the band by David Castillo.
Robin had met with the Band in London (UK) and after being given Lyrical Concepts and Pre Production Tracks, he then went back to Sweden to conceive the albums artwork, continuing to work closely with the band via the Internet. This resulted in a 12 page original artwork booklet and CD packaging that let the listener explore the Album as a whole, both Musically and Visually.
The new 13 Track album - 'Evolution: Creatio Ex Nihilio', will be released in 2010 on Music Theories a new subdivision of Mascot Records.
