In late 2006, ex-CATARACT founding member and main songwriter Simon Fьllemann started a new project named ARMA GATHAS. After a gruelling two-year search for the right musicians to complement his artistic vision, he hooked up with scene icon Che Snelting, former singer and frontman for Dutch institution BORN FROM PAIN. Two genre leaders had found each other to plan their unrelenting attack on an unsuspecting metal world.

The line-up was completed by MACHINEMADE GOD guitarist Marc Niedersberg, 20-year old drum talent Max van Winkelhof and bassist Alex “Lahnsteiner” Hartel.

Thirteen brutal, atmospheric, apocalyptic songs were written and brought to life to form ‘Dead To This World’, a concept album written by Simon Fullemann with vocalist Chй Snelting’s lyrical concept. The visual side of the concept was brought to live by none less than Thomas Ewerhard!

No boundaries were set during the writing process: heavy guitars, solos, synths, recordings of their own vital organs for sampling, experimenting with different drum beats and fills – this record brings something new to heavy music and nothing was off limits.

Recorded and mixed by Sky v Hoff (CALIBAN, MACHINEMADE GOD) and mastered by the legendary Alan Douches (HATEBREED, MASTODON, etc.) at West West Side Studios in New York, ‘Dead To This World’ is blessed with a unique, crushing sound. Thirteen tracks of the band’s own characteristic sound - storming, grooving, violent METAL in the vein of ENTOMBED, BOLT THROWER and MACHINE HEAD mixed with PUNK/HARDCORE icons like TRAGEDY, INTEGRITY, HIS HERO IS GONE, HATEBREED, MERAUDER, WOLFBRIGADE and even NEUROSIS. This is ARMA GATHAS.
