Because Legenda Aurea signed a deal with the German label Twilight Zone their debut album ‘Sedna’ has been re-released. I’m totally not impressed by the new edition of this record. Female singer Claudia has a beautiful voice; her classical way of singing is fine but I expected some more challenge and variation. The music is catchy and contains some nice melodic power passages but what I miss here is an exclusive sound. The only info which was sent with this CD is an elucidation on how fans of Nightwish, Within Temptation and Visions Of Atlantis should listen to this album. I should not mark Within Tempation in this comparison but the characteristics of the other bands are more than present.

After some online research I find out that Legenda Aureau has its roots in Switzerland and exists since 2005. Furthermore all members are very young (average age lies around twenty years). That’s a thing that makes the band sympathetic. I really can appreciate that such young people can make an album like this. But still Legenda Aurea is not my kind of band. It comes down to what I mentioned before; they do not really present us with surprising stuff. It’s a start but if they want to make some career they have to come up with a more original sound.
