Not only is Ritchie Blackmore one of the technically most accomplished guitarists of the world, he is also one of the most exceptional and uncompromising musicians. Following his extremely successful years with Deep Purple and Rainbow, he left all commercial considerations aside, founding a new act in Blackmore’s Night and devoting himself single-mindedly to his greatest passion, the music of the Middle Ages. Now he is about to present his band's new single, 'I’ll Be There (Just Call My Name)'.
The track surprises with rocky sounds without neglecting the typical Blackmore’s Night trademarks. Ritchie Blackmore's unique guitar style, his instinctive feel for harmonies and melodies, together with the charismatic voice of his partner, Candice Night, make the song an instant classic. The track will be released in a brand-new format: SPV are presenting 'I’ll Be There (Just Call My Name)' in a 2-track single format at a special rate of EUR 2.99 (recommended retail price), including a bonus track. The single is a foretaste of Blackmore's Night's upcoming studio album, The Village Lanterne, scheduled for an autumn release.
Their debut album, Under A Violet Moon, out in spring 1999, went straight to no. 20 of the German and no. 12 of the Japanese album charts. In line with these musical parameters, the band went on to tour all over the world, playing in churches, opera houses, theatres, chateaus and castles. Their 2001 release, Fires At Midnight, continued in this successful vein and was celebrated by fans and media alike, making no. 9 of the German album charts (no. 20 in Japan). Ghost Of A Rose arrived in 2003 and went to no. 11 of the German charts. Following the superb romantic collection, Beyond The Sunset (2004), May 2005 saw the long-awaited arrival of the DVD, Castles & Dreams, a fascinating visual document of one of the most exceptional acts of our time. ‘Castles & Dreams’ made no. 3 of the German DVD Media Control Charts. Now all Blackmore's Night fans have the new single 'I`ll Be There (Just Call My Name)' to look forward to.
