Carcass have recently announced the recording of a new album – their first in 17 years – and touring following a recent live reformation in the last couple of years.
Formed in the late 80's, Carcass featured ex Napalm Death guitarist Bill Steer and ex Electro Hippies vocalist Jeff Walker. The band became famous as a 'gore' band - using extreme images on album sleeve and in lyrics, often with a medical dictionary providing inspiration. The band toured the world with great success and eventually signed a major label deal with Columbia Records in the mid 90's. Having split after the release of the final album 'Swansong', Jeff Walker continued with Blackstar and Brujeria. Bill Steer formed Firebird, and Mike Amott found success with Spiritual Beggars and Arch Enemy.
