"THE INHERITED REPRESSION"
ДРУГИ АРТИКУЛИ НА PSYCROPTIC:
- The 5th album of the Tasmanian devils “Psycroptic” [!]
- A PRECISE BLEND OF BRUTALITY, INTENSITY AND GROOVE [!]
The Tasmanian devils from PSYCROPTIC have progressively carved a niche of their own within today's overcrowded metal scene. Staying clear of trends, PSYCROPTIC incorporate many elements of music – extreme and otherwise - to capture a sound that is uniquely their own: a precise blend of brutality, intensity and groove. Not to be pigeonholed, Psycroptic stands apart from the horde and adds a unique & fresh element in the extreme metal realm.
Formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 1999, PSYCROPTIC wrote intensively for the months following their formation, crafting the material for the debut album 'The Isle of Disenchantment'. This album was self released in January 2001 to overwhelming response from the metal underground which helped spread the PSYCROPTIC name all around the world.
'Scepter of the Ancients' saw the light of day in 2003 through and with it PSYCROPTIC further define their sound. After several years of playing Australian stages, 2004 saw PSYCROPTIC leave their home shores for the first time, touring with death metal legends Dismember throughout Europe. Much of 2005 was spent touring Australia, and preparing material for 'Symbols of Failure'. Released in early 2006, the album was followed by extensive touring – 3 full European tours and several Australian tours – sharing the stage with such acts as Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Nile, Behemoth, Kataklsym, Black Dahlia Murder among others.
In June 2008 PSYCROPTIC were signed to Nuclear Blast worldwide and released their highly anticipated 4th studio album, (OB)SERVANT, mixed and mastered by Logan Mader(Machine Head/Soulfly). And in April 2010, PSYCROPTIC released the first ever live cd/dvd titled “INITIATE:. Since the release of (OB) Servant until the present date (December 2011) PSYCROPTIC have toured the world including:- Nth America, Europe , The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, China and as far east as Inner Mongolia . Most of these regions were toured multiple times resulting in over 250 shows worldwide in support of (Ob)Servant. The band also headlined for the first time in both Europe and North America.
February 2012 sees the release of the bands 5th studio album “ THE IHERITED REPRESSION” . Recorded by the bands guitarist, Joe Haley. Armed with this brand new weapon, the band are set to release their most outstanding display of tech/ groove mastery to date.
Commented PSYCROPTIC guitarist, Joe Haley, “The Inherited Repression is far and away my favorite Psycroptic album thus far - all of us in the band think this. It’s the age-old clichй from bands when they talk about their current album as being the best of their career, blah, blah, but I have to say it because it’s true. We wouldn’t think there is a point of going on if we couldn’t outdo each album prior. We are certainly not playing music for anything else than the love of creating it and performing it.
“The Inherited Repression is quite different from anything we have done in terms of song writing and structure, and we spent a lot longer writing and demoing the songs before we recorded it, which you can tell. It’s a very dynamic album - the fast elements faster, the slow elements slower, and a lot of light and dark binding it together. It’s a very catchy album as well - you can tap your foot, bang your head or anything else you want. Basically it has a lot of groove on it from start to finish.”
As the live arena is where PSYCROPTIC really come into their own you can be rest assured that new audiences worldwide are going to have no choice but to acknowledge this brutal and modern metal powerhouse from the island down under. 2012 will see PSYCROPTIC embark on multiple Northern Hemisphere tours and even some new uncharted waters.
